Now I have to make a decision …. Today I had a telephone interview with the headquarter of Raytheon in Germany to talk about my training period in Barcelona (Spain). After a 8-minute-call they were convinced so I can take contact with the office in Barcelona to ask what kind of project they have for me.

Yesterday, Stu gave me some more information about the project I can do for Studygroup in Brighton (UK). I can do something with SharePoint Portal Server 2003. Set up a complete solution using templates designed by the Australian colleagues, tailored to UK content. So it will be both design and some scripting.

Now it’s time to think about the two possibilities and make a decision so I can start getting all the papers signed. For the moment I think it’s standing
(UK) Brigton 70% – 30% (Spain) Barcelona.

Update: I made my decision, I want to go to Brighton!

Sinds gisteren heb ik weer een bel!
Iedereen is vanaf heden weer welkom ten huize van Petra Nikolajova! 2 dagen hebben de techniciens eraan gewerkt, maar sinds gisteren is het er dus. Nu kan iedereen op elk moment van de dag eens komen bellen bij mij. Laat die kans niet voorbijgaan é!!!

Now that I have used Nucleus for about a year I’m coming back to where I’ve started. Not completely, the first blogsoftware I used was Pivot but after that, the first blogsoftware I used (using a DB) was Wordpress. By now I don’t know why I switched to Nucleus a year ago but hey I’m back :) Tanks to a very nice Nucleus to Wordpress converter.

Whohoooooooooo. Eindelijk. Oef. Jiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiha.

Mijn leekracht Frans heeft gisteren uiteindelijk mijn equivalentietabel goedgekeurd. Vanaf nu geniet ik niet voor 88,8% van mijn verblijf hier. Neen, vanaf nu kan ik er 100% voor gaan. En zo moet het ook, toch?

Eh, oui. Vorig weekend was het dan zo ver. Na mijn geslaagde aankoop (ik heb het dan over mijn ’sac’) konden we zaterdag avond allemaal meegenieten van het groot feest dat plaatsvond op de Place de Jaude. Het was D-day in Clermont-Ferrand. Na ettelijke jaren zonder tram, heeft deze stad sinds vorig weekend er een nieuw vervoermiddel bijgekregen. Heel het weekend lang konden de ‘clermontois’ gratis een ritje meepikken en vanuit de tramway zelf konden ze hun allereigenste stad dan bewonderen. Wij (Kevin, Liesbeth en ik) hebben het bij een aller-retour ritje gehouden, de drukte werd ons iets te veel. Bon, al bij al een heel geslaagde opening van dit hoogtechnologisch vervoermiddel, alleen wel spijtig dat ze sindsdien niet meer rijdt. Reden? Onze tramway had een paar dagen voor de inauguration te kampen met wat evenwichtsproblemen, met als gevolg dat ze al eens was ontspoord. Bref, Clermont heeft een nieuwe Tranway, maar dan ook weer niet helemaal.

Samedi dernier is het er dan toch van gekomen: ik heb een nieuwe sac gekocht. Jaja, zo eentje voor over je shouder te hangen..en hij is zwart. Die dag was gewoon dé perfecte dag om jezelf eens in de watten te leggen. Voilà , ma petite histoire!

This (late) morning I decided to go for a walk. It was nice and sunny so I went to the ‘polder’ in Hoboken to have a walk and to shoot some picture (read: test my new camera). I did the red route of 3.7 km. A nice route right through the middle of the ‘polder’. Here are some photos of it.

Just two weeks before Caroline and I are leaving for Clermont-Ferrand. I think we are both (or do I have to say the four of us) very much looking forward to this. The four of us (Caroline, Kevin, Petra and I) fell in love with Clermont, his beautiful Jardin Le Coq, Place de Jaute and of course “le tram” :).
I even sold my tickets for Ilse Delange this week. Does that says something about how much I am looking forward to it?
Yesterday (Tuesday) I ordered my new Canon EOS 400D and this afternoon they allready rang my bell to deliver it. So now I can spend some time testing it thoroughly in Clermont.

The last few months I have been thinking a lot about buying a new digital camera, a SLR camera. At first I had to make my choice between the D50 from Nikon or the EOS 350D from Canon. But now Canon has introduced there successor, the EOS 400D. With a 10,1 Megapixel CMOS sensor, 9-point wide-area AF, 2.5″ LCD and EOS Integrated Cleaning System. So I think I’m going to buy the EOS 400D Body with a AF18-200mm lens from Tamron. Now I know which camera to buy I can start looking for the best shop to buy it.
